Description
The specimen consists of a portion of aorta taken 5cm above the diaphragm. The aorta is
completely transected and there is an adjacent fusiform sac overlying the site of transection. The
deceased was an 11 year old who received severe crush injuries when a petrol tank toppled onto
his abdomen.
